Thanks to my husband, I got to knock off one of the items on my bucket list. #4 Go to a Saints Game. A few years ago, I realized that if I was to be in a relationship with a man that loves football, I sure as hell better be able to conversate about it. I was quickly reminded of how much I loved the sport, as its been so long since my high school cheerleading days. Well, maybe not that long!!!
Why the New Orleans Saints? Well, any sport is more fun if your actually rooting for a specific team. As I was deciding which one I was going to choose (cause i just wasn’t feeling the Jets), Herrold filled me in on the Saints history for losing. That combined with the history of Drew Brees being put on the bench after his shoulder surgery made me want to root for the Black and Gold.
A few weeks into the 2009 season my step-daughter Sophie jumped on board, and became a fan with me. We are the only ones in the house that like the same team. Herrold (my husband) is a Texans fan, Braxton loves the Cards, Joe roots for the Colts (sometimes) and Michael… well he is undecided at this time.
So naturally when the Saints came to Arizona to play the Cardinals Sophie and I gave daddy the puppy eyes, and it was all he could do not to get us tickets.
Unfortunatly, they lost =( I cried. But Herrold was there to console me.
The day wasn’t a total loss, as we walked around the Westgae in our Black and Gold, and took pictures with every saints fan we could find. All of whom I must say where AWESOME!
WHO DAT!!! Geaux Saints!!!
