When one door closes

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end…  I have officially reclaimed my birth name of Julie Belton.  I was compelled to create an image to commemorate this moment in my life.

My day started off by waking up an hour late!  My court date was at 9:00 and I needed to be on the road by 8:15, it was 7:55.  I flew into the shower and left just enough time to put eyeliner on one eye.  As I was putting on my coat I looked out the window, and it was awfully white outside!  Perfect!  3 inches of snow already on the ground.  Ughhhhh, I ran to my car and carelessly moved enough snow of the windshield that allowed me a enough sight to back out of my parking spot.

Driving 20mph, I was on my way, the GPS said I would arrive at 8:45, I calmed down and said “okay, I can do this”.  I get to Newark in one piece, but still had no idea where I was going.  Street where closed because of the snow, and my GPS kept taking me in circles.  I ended up going the wrong way on a one way road, but finally found the building and parking, its 9:05.  I made it there just in time, and luckily, everyone is the court was running late so there was really no need to stress.

After the judge handed me paperwork with the HUGE gold seal on it, I was relieved that it was finally over.  Back on the road again on my way home, I was finally able to appreciate the beautiful landscape that was being created all around me.  The snow was coming down fast, and by this time everything was covered by at least 6 inches.  I stopped home to pick up my camera and headed out.

Down the street from my house there is a church with a beautiful red door I though would be awesome against the white landscape, but when I began to edit, something else manifested itself all together.  After sliding all over the road, I spent the rest of the day inside and created this image.  I hope you enjoy it.
